Content pages are pages that only contain text and images and do not influence the technical operation of the Tourist Barometer. Account Administrators can create personal content for their own account.
The ‘Content Editor’ is used to manage content pages. The Content Editor can be started directly from the ‘Welcome’ screen of the account management section or by selecting 'Content Editor' in the module selection on top of the page.
Fixed structure
In order to help distinguish the Tourist Barometer, a fixed structure is used consisting of three blocks in which content pages can be created.
Block 1: Public pages
Pages in this block are visible to all visitors (also visitors from the public domain who are not logged in).
Blocks 2 & 3: Protected pages
The pages in blocks 2 and 3 can only be accessed by registered visitors to the Tourist Barometer who have logged in. Those are visitors who have log in data.
The pages in block 2 are displayed above the menu, above the fixed module pages on the left-hand side of the screen.
The pages in block 3 are displayed below the menu, below the fixed module pages on the left-hand side of the screen.
Add a main menu item
A new main menu item can be added by clicking on the 'Main menu add item to block x' option for the block in question.
Ticking the box next to ‘Is newpage' will transform the main menu item into a newspage. All content entered under ‘News’ will then be displayed on this page. It is important that one main menu item is marked as newspage so that news content will be displayed on the Barometer.
Add a new content page
A new content page can be added by clicking on the ‘add page' option for the main menu in question.
Delete a main menu item or content page
An existing main menu item or content page can be deleted by finding the page in the correct block (after opening the Content Editor on the left-hand side of the screen) and clicking on ‘[del]’ (delete) next to the page that requires deletion. The Barometer displays a message confirming that the page is to be deleted.
Note! It is not possible to undo the deletion of the first main menu item in the Content Editor. However, the item can be renamed.
Edit a content page
After a ‘main menu item’ or a ‘content page’ has been added, the item or page can be edited by clicking on it.
The title of main menu items on the site can be edited for the NL, GB, FR and DK sites.
Text can be added for each page on the NL, GB, FR and DK sites.
NB: foreign languages where applicable.
Text can then be entered and edited in a similar manner to MS Word (font, bold, italics, underlining, etc.).
You can also upload files, images and videos. See Upload images/files for more information.
Changes can be stored by clicking on the ‘Save’ button at the bottom of the page.
